The employment based Green Card category EB-4 is for special immigrants. A special immigrant under EB4 category is a person who falls under one of the following categories: certain religious workers, broadcasters, Iraqi/Afghan translators, Iraqis who have assisted the U.S., international organization employees, certain physicians, certain armed members of the armed forces, Panama Canal Zone employees, retired NATO-6 employees, spouses and children of Deceased NATO-6 employees.
As with many of the other employment based Green Card categories, a foreign national seeking status under EB-4 category must often have a sponsoring U.S. employer to file a petition on his or her behalf. Following that, the foreign national can apply for his or her Green Card through adjustment of status, or consular processing.
